We are a family of 4, with 2 children under the age of 3. We chose the Seagull Beach House because we liked the idea of a lakefront cottage with a shallow entry. We could just plop ourselves down and let the little ones play in the wonderful sand and warm shallow water without constantly worrying. It seems they could go forever without hitting deep water. Since I was staying with the little ones and my aging mother for one of the weeks, it was pleasant to have the small and quiet harbour community close so it didn't feel too isolated.
The cottage was very cozy-Thank goodness for the wonderful (and very efficient fireplace!) We liked the rustic feel of the cabin...it was very comfortable...we really felt like we could kick back and relax. (I've always said if I wanted a house-I'd stay in the city). I would recommend this cottage to anyone who would like to actually get out of the city and experience real cottage living. You can be close to lots of peaceful natural attractions (Tobermory, Cabot Lighthouse, Lion's Head) as well as kicking it up at Sauble Beach!
I would also like to acknowledge our wonderful host Paul, who was kind enough to check-in with us to make sure we were warm enough. He also came to our rescue when we had bought a dockside fish we didn't know what to do with! Thanks again Paul! We hope to see you next year!
The Foster Family
Hi Anna and Paul
We all had a marvelous time exploring the Bruce and meeting you as well.
What an awesome spot in the world. We were all exhausted and happy heading home - Adam slept the whole way! We will definitely be back your way next year -myself, I fell a little in love with the Bruce so I don’t think that we will be able to stay away too long.
It was very special for us to see how much little Adam enjoyed your part of the world. I will not forget him taking his shoes and socks off at your shoreline and wading in with his pants on! On Friday we hiked the 1 km trail to see the Bruce caves in Wiarton and Adam ran the whole way there and back. It was funny because he stumbled on rocks and tree roots and would get up and start going again - he didn’t want to slow down.
We wish you the best and I am sure we’ll see you again - if you do venture south, look us up!
